On Tuesday 12 th February 2008 Stepney FC held their Annual Awards Ceremony at the Mile Ecology Centre. Amongst the guests were a number of key representatives from TATA Consultancy Services which included Malcolm Lane, S.A. Hasan, A. S. Lakshminarayanan, Councillors Alibor Choudhury, Lutfur Rahman and Motin Uz-Zaman. Other guests included Steve Bending (Acting Borough Commander), John Biggs (GLA Member), Kevan Collins (Corporate Director Children's Services), David James (London FA), representatives from Canary Wharf Group as well as many other guests.
The Award Ceremony began with the news from London FA that Stepney FC was in the final stages of being awarded the Charter Standards Club Status. Young People were recognised for their success on the football pitch, voluntary work and education achievement. A full list of the winners is outlined below.
A Special Award was given to TATA Consultancy Services for their support in organising the successful India Trip. Tour Jackets were presented to Malcom Lane, Avidesh Dixit and Ankush for their effort in organising the India Trip. Also recognised were Akik Miah and Afazul Hoque (Kaled) for their work with the club. The players and management of Stepney FC also recognised the work of the Club Honorary President Abdal Ullah.
